Rent a Space FAQ

How do I book?
We first encourage you to come and check out the Lotus Community Corner. It has been described as one of the most elegant gathering spaces in the city by those who have experienced its ambiance.
Did we mention that we have a garden? The Lotus Peace Garden. The Garden has held a wide variety of events, from barbeques to bonfires, movie nights, and wedding ceremonies.
After taking a tour of what we offer, you’ll be able to choose from our Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond packages. Sit down with our Events Manager to go over all the details to make your event special.
I have decided on the Package that best suits my event, what do I do next?
A contract with the Lotus Community Corner must be signed at least 14 days prior to the event date. We require a $150 deposit with the signed contract to confirm any booking. This deposit will be deducted from your total final bill.
Can I make any changes to my package after selection?
Yes, we would love to meet all your needs. Because of the time it takes to adjust plans, any changes you wish to make must be communicated to the Events Manager no later than 10 days prior to your event. Within this time frame, we would be happy to also accommodate additional services not included in the package for an additional fee.

How are packages priced?
Packages are priced according to the services provided and the number of guests attending, with a minimum guaranteed number of guests.
The minimum number of guests for indoor events is 20 and the minimum for outdoor events is 30.
This does not mean you cannot use the space for fewer guests, however:
You will be billed for the guaranteed number of guests or the actual number of attendees, whichever is greater.
How long can my event be?
Our events may run up to three hours, depending on the package, with a courtesy hour prior to the event for set-up. We are glad to host your event for a longer time for an additional 20% for every hour stayed.
Set-Up and Decoration
Please notify the Events Manager in advance of any set-up or decorations required for your event, no later then 10 days prior to your event.
You will be provided with a courtesy hour prior to your event for set-up to be done by yourself. A staff member will be present to help in the set-up (if not already set up).
What happens if I need to cancel the booking?
No cancellation charge is incurred if the Lotus Community Corner is notified in writing to bookings@lotuscommunitycorner.org 14 days ahead of the scheduled event. The deposit of $150 will be forfeited if the Lotus Community Corner is notified 13 days or less in advance of the scheduled event. If for any reason the cancellation is made 10 days or less prior to the scheduled event, a charge of 50% of the last agreed-upon price will be charged to you. The $150 deposit will be included in this payment.
Is there Facility Insurance?
Yes. Like any other venue, we ask for a $200 Facility Insurance to be paid by you by e-transfer, cash or cheque. The full amount will be refunded to you in the case no damage occurs. By damage, we mean:

You will be held responsible for any damage to the Lotus Community Corner property during their event and is responsible for the actions and conduct of their guests. For this reason, we require that any child under the age of 12 should always be accompanied by a parent.
